Park City Tourism is hosting a Community Christmas Tree Lighting event beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.
The street in front of Park City City Hall, 41 Mammoth Cave St., is to be closed for the safe enjoyment of the activities.
Community members are invited to bring an ornament from home or use one that will be available there to hang on the 12-foot tree. Santa Claus is expected to swing by for a visit around 4:30, and the tree lighting itself is scheduled for 5 p.m. Free hot chocolate is to be available.
A showing of “Polar Express” follows at approximately 5:05 p.m. Guests are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets for movie viewing.
