Linda Watts, executive director of the Park City Tourist and Convention Commission, extended an open invitation this week to a Tree of Hope Dedication at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bell’s Tavern Park.
“We planted a tree in honor and in memory of those that were lost in tornado last year,” she said. “Because Saturday is Dec. 10, the exact year’s date, we’re going to have just a small, simple honor for them and dedicate the tree.”
Burgess said they are hoping an honor guard would be there to open the ceremony, and Watts said a school choir would sing and a bagpiper is scheduled to play as well. After the meeting, she said they would be reading the names of those who perished as a result of the deadly storms, none of whom were Barren County residents.
