Connie Renea Byrd
Connie Renea Byrd, 54,died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She is a daughter of Johnny W. Byrd and the late Letha E. Vincent Byrd.
Besides her father she is survived by one sister, Vanessa Lynn Combs; one half brother, Doug K. Pennycuff; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her half brother, Ricky Pennycuff.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Michael A. Sanders, 69, of Brownsville died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, in Glasgow. The Edmonson County native was born Dec. 11, 1953, to the late Mitch and Nora Page Sanders Massey.
Mike was a welder and a member of the pipefitters union. He was saved at Pleasant Union United Baptist Church when he was 12 years old.
He leaves to honor his memory his daughters, Melissa and Michelle Sanders of Kokomo, Indiana; his sister, Jean Waddle of Chalybeate; nieces, Linda Lindsey (William “Jackie”) and Kim Howard (Jeff); nephew, Eddie Waddle; and several great-nieces and -nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Vonnie Pearl Hogan and Lova Belle Sanders.
Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Mount Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.

Virginia Kathalyn Tade
Virginia Kathalyn Rich Tade, 83, of Glasgow died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at NHC Healthcare. Kathalyn was born Jan. 3, 1940, in Monroe County to the late Rad and Ceretha Rich.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, B.R. Tade; one daughter, Connie Sue Jackson; and three brothers, James, Bobby, and Jesse Rich.
Kathalyn was a seamstress for many years, retiring from Johnson Controls. She was saved at 8 years of age, and the roles she was most proud of were those of being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a pastor’s wife for many years, serving alongside her husband in Baptist churches throughout Allen, Barren, Hart and Harlan counties. Most recently, she was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Lou Crowe (Bobby) of Gamaliel and Ann Steenbergen (Todd) of Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Michael Crowe (Dora) of Carthage, Tennessee, Lee Jackson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Glenda Crowe (Jerry Manning) of Russellville, Laura Smith (Jamie) of Moss, Tennessee, Carl Jackson of Lucas, Ashley Elrod (Tanner) of Kettering, Ohio, and Spencer Steenbergen of Bowling Green; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley Brockett, Gunner Williams, Eve Jackson, Maci Smith, Sarah Manning, Colton and Clayton Howard, and Paxton Elrod; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Harrison Brockett.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at both NHC Healthcare and the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
