Among the agenda items for the committees of the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents on Friday are consideration of whether to begin or end certain programs, budget matters, a legislative update and design renderings for the Gordon Ford College of Business.
The Academic Affairs Committee, chaired by W. Currie Milliken, is to consider approval of graduate certificates in Enterprise Management and Executive Decision Making; approval of undergraduate certificates in Sales, Executive Influence in Organizations, Managing Inclusive Organizations and Creativity and Innovation Management; approval of program suspensions of the Master of Arts in Folk Studies and the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture; and approval an an emeritus appointment.
The informational item, “A Fulbright Sabbatical to Remember: Lessons Learned in Prague and Beyond” from Janet Tassell is also on the agenda.
The Finance and Budget Committee, chaired by Jan West, is to consider approval of budget versus actual finances report; approval of personnel actions; approval of refunding of bond for Honors College renovations; approval of refunding of bond for Downing Student Union renovations; approval of asset preservation capital project; and an as-yet unidentified action item, the topic and supporting documents for which are to be available Wednesday.
A quarterly internal audit report from Bruce Weisman is also on the agenda for this committee as an informational item.
The Student Affairs Committee, chaired by Doris Thomas, has only an informational item on the agenda which is the Stop Out Recovery program, from Jennifer Hammonds and Chris Jensen.
The Executive Committee is chaired Phillip Bale, who chairs the WKU Board of Regents as a whole, and the committee has as its other members the chairs of the other three committees listed above. It has two informational items: a legislative update from Jennifer Breiwa Smith and Gordon Ford College of Business renderings presented by Janette Scott with Gensler, an architecture, design and planning firm.
The meeting of the WKU Board of Regents is to be called to order at 9 a.m. in the Martin Regents Room of Jody Richards Hall, with the committee meetings in successive order as listed above. The meetings will be available via livestream at this link.
