The Glasgow Downtown Business Association is expecting seven food trucks and more than 110 other vendors, including downtown eateries, for its Sip, Shop & Stroll event on Saturday.
GDBA member Melissa Smith said this year’s is going to be the largest of the six such events the group has organized, and vendors are coming from several counties within the southcentral Kentucky area.
What was previously an evening event was moved to a Saturday to stretch out the fun to an “all-day” event, she said.

Three free magic shows are offered Saturday during Sip, Shop & Stroll downtown in Glasgow.
It all kicks off at 10 a.m. around the Glasgow Public Square and during that time, three musicians are scheduled to perform. Plus, sippers, shoppers and strollers will have three separate opportunities – at 11 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. – to catch a free Traveling Magic show presented by magician Brad Lowe.
The musical performances are to be by Cara Bishop, Marley Edmunds and Lane Schlafke.
The food trucks that are expected are Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Rolaid’s Burger on Wheels, She Sells Shrimp, Pucker Up Lemonade, Dog Pen Hotdogs, Jambalaya Joe and Philly Willy’s.
The event continues until 4 p.m. Saturday.

In preparation for the event, the plan is for traffic to all except the west side of the square along Race Street to be shut down beginning around 6 a.m. for the vendor spaces to be marked, and then vendors may begin setting up at 7 a.m., said Maj. Terry Flatt, interim chief for the Glasgow Police Department. If necessary, the west side of the square may be shut down as well, he said.
