Gary Marr

Gary Lee Marr, 60, of Smiths Grove died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Hospice House in Bowling Green. He was born May 15, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joan Hughes Marr and Gary Lee Marr Sr.
Those who knew Gary loved him for his radiant positivity, resilience, and servant’s heart. As an organ transplant recipient, Gary understood gratitude’s value and faith’s power. His laughter, strength, and friendly ear will be remembered by many.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Allstrom Marr of Smiths Grove; two sons, Kyle Marr (Lauren) of Bowling Green and Eric Marr (Lakin) of Lexington; sister, Angie Determan (Tom Pruett) of Camanche, Iowa; grandson, Jackson Marr; and his aunt, Judy Schaley (Kevin Hesse) of Clinton, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Agnes Marie Hughes; his grandfather, Gurden Hughes; and his aunt, Jackie Perry.
A celebration of life is at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. April 22 at the funeral home.

April Dawn Pedigo, 41, of Glasgow died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1982, in Glasgow, she attended Monroe County Schools through the ninth grade before transferring to Barren County High School. She was saved by her lord at the age of 13 in 1995. After graduating BCHS in 2000, she attended college and worked as a mobile expert for a telecommunications company.
She is survived by her spouse Jay whom she married on Oct. 11, 2014; two children, Shannon Lile and Benjamin Lile; two precious grandchildren whom she adored, Aurora Holman and Zadie Holman; her parents, Odell and Connie Hart; her sister, Ashley Hart; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cordell and Clorene (Granny) Sheffield; and Bob and Edna Wright; and by an uncle, James Hart.
Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Monday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with cremation to follow. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward the grandchildren’s educational fund and can be made at the funeral home.

Cordell Truman Stephens, 77, Cave City

Cordell Truman Stephens

Cordell Truman Stephens, 77, of Cave City died Friday, April 14, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Barren County. He was born in Fentress County, Tennessee, on Oct. 19, 1945, a son of the late Wheeler D. Stephens and Willie Vannie (Nation) Stephens. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his children; Jason Stephens and wife Teresa, Anthony Vibbert and wife Crystal, and Crystal Aument and companion Jason, all of Glasgow; the mother of his children, JoAnn McCoy of Glasgow; one sister, Ann Allred of Livingston, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Tyler and Makayla Aument, Gavin Clark, Jordan and Morgan Stephens, and Angel Vibbert; and great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Garrett, Christine Minor and Grace Hurt; and one brother, Edison Stephens.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roy Douglas Stewart, 77, Glasgow

Roy Douglas Stewart

Roy Douglas Stewart, 77, of Glasgow died peacefully Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Robert Stewart and Francis Houchens Stewart. He was a retired regional manager with Seelbach and Co., working for Tri-County Electric. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He also helped with the Etoile Community Fair and was a member of H.B. Grant No. 610 F&AM and Austin No. 847 F&AM Masonic lodges, in which he enjoyed fellowship and helping his community.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda Sue Combs Stewart; one son: Anthony “Tony” Stewart and fiancée Staci Lee; three daughters, Julie Humphrey, Toye Medford (Todd) and Shannon Oliver (Steven); four grandchildren, Brittany Leigh Williams, Hayley Paige Stewart, Cara Medford and Tate Simmons; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe County, with burial to follow. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 15 – with Masonic service at 7 p.m. Saturday – and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
