Bennett and her mother, Donna Logsdon, are charged with murder in relation to the death of Michael “Mickey” O. Logsdon in July. He was their father and husband, respectively.
Both were out of jail on bond, but Bennett was rearrested April 22 after Circuit Judge John T. Alexander ordered a bench warrant after he had received a report leading him to conclude that there was probable cause she had violated one or more conditions of bond – testing positive for methamphetamine.

In court on Monday, special prosecutor Jason Rothrock, who also appeared via the Zoom streaming service, said he believed she should have some consequence to the bond violation, but he added that he was not thinking she should stay in jail for however many months it could be before the trial, which is yet to be scheduled.
Alexander listed a few options to the defense and prosecuting attorneys as to how they could move forward from a procedural standpoint, and defense attorney Johnny Bell suggested that she serve 30 days. Rothrock said he was not opposed to that as a sanction.
Alexander said he prefers when parties can work something out among themselves, so if both of them agreed to it, he would as well. He noted that he would set it so the 30 days would begin retroactively from her rearrest date, asking when the next pretrial conference was for the case.
Upon learning it was scheduled for May 22, he said he would make the order so that she would be released on that date.
