A former Glasgow Police Department chief has been charged with a misdemeanor in relation to the allegation that, in January, he inappropriately touched an employee of a local business while she was at work.
Guy Turcotte, 57, now a detective but on administrative leave with pay while the case is pending, is charged with harassment with physical contact, no injury,
His arraignment was scheduled in Barren District Court for 8:30 a.m. Monday, but District Judge Gabe Pendleton recused himself. On Friday, an order was issued appointing District Judge Kristi Castillo to the case, and the arraignment was rescheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday in Monroe County, which is in Castillo’s judicial district.
The woman accusing Turcotte had sought an interpersonal protective order, which was granted after a hearing in Barren County.
As to whether any criminal charge should be lodged, the case was referred to Kentucky State Police, which filed a criminal complaint and associated summons April 21, the latter of which was signed electronically by Pendleton.
A special prosecutor, Wes Stephens, has also been assigned to the case.
