The 13th annual “Shake Your Paw Ball” preparations are underway for the event June 3. The event is hosted by the Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA) and is their largest fundraiser of the year.

The event’s proceeds will go to day to day operations to keep the homeless animals healthy, happy and comfortable, as well as community education opportunities.

“Since the first ball in 2009, this event has given us the resources to support BRAWA’s mission for caring for the homeless and unwanted animals,” said Molly Taylor, the committee chair for the event. “My passion for animals and working with BRAWA has been so rewarding and events like this are how we can grow and educate the community.”

Last year BRAWA served more than 2,500 animals, and offers vouchers to subsidize the cost to spay or neuter pets.

“Education is so important to our work,” Taylor said. “The sooner we can teach people proper pet care and responsibility, the better.”

“The Shake Your Paw Ball is an opportunity to get dressed up for a fun night out while supporting a great cause,” she said.

The event will be at Cave Area Conference Center and will have food and refreshments for guests as well as a cash-bar. Tyrone Dunn and Kinfoke will perform.
