David Bagshaw
David Aaron Bagshaw, 61, of Brownsville died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The Edmonson County native was born Aug. 31, 1961, to the late Robert Gilbert and Anna Earlene Bagshaw. He was married to Shivonnia Renee Hatcher Bagshaw and Sandy Higgs Bagshaw, both of whom preceded him in death.
David worked for Greenwood Tree Service and was a member of Stockholm United Baptist Church.
He leaves to honor his memory his companion, Christy Filback of Brownsville; his children, Andrew Bagshaw of Cave City, Erin Milton (Gary Joe) of Brownsville and Felicia Dalton (Tommy Shepherd) of Roundhill; grandchildren, Seaira Vincent, Kacey Dalton and Joseph Milton; great-grandchildren, Zayden, Zechariah and Anna Grace; and his brothers, Bobby Bagshaw (Cindy) of Anneta and Gary Bagshaw (Donna) of Mammoth Cave.
Besides his parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, James Lee Jewell.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel, with interment in Union Light Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Ann Coomer, 82, a former resident of Cave City, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Frances Pardue Pierce. She was saved at Big Meadow Baptist Church and then baptized at Slick Rock Creek. She was a retired employee of Quality Inn in Cave City.
Survivors include two children, Beth Oyler of Elkton, and Jim Coomer and his wife Debra of Bowling Green; a daughter-in-law, Denise Coomer of Florence; seven grandchildren, Megan Hill, Charlie Coomer, Seth Coomer, Matt Coomer, Daniel Coomer, Madison Coomer and James Crane; one sister, Glenda P. Eaton (Larry); two brothers, Gary Pierce (Rita) and Don Pierce (Kay); several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Terrill Coomer; one son, Doug Coomer; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Pauline Coomer; one great-grandson, Ethan James Coomer; and one sister, Norma Jean Sexton.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jimmy Estes
Jimmy Estes, 49, of Glasgow died Saturday, June 3, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Glasgow on Jan. 16, 1974, to the late George Edmon Estes Jr. and the late Marjorie Elmore. Jimmy was a big fan of cars and loved to spend time listening to all his favorite rock bands.
He is survived by his son, Dacota Estes; daughters, Whitney Meredith (Tyler) and Natane Estes; brother, Joe Estes; sisters, Sherry Coffey and Jennifer Estes; Whitney’s daughters, Addie and Layla, whom he adored very much; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Christopher Winchester.
Memorial service is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at The Way Church. The family honored Mr. Estes’ wishes for cremation. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Frances Groce, 87, of Glasgow died Friday, June 2, 2023, at her residence surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Madison, Tennessee, on Nov. 10, 1935, to the late Paul R. Elmore and the late Mildred Gunnells Elmore.
Frances was a member of the Glasgow Bible Church. She retired from R.R. Donnelley. She is survived by her son, Claud Anthony Paul Groce (Dawn); sisters, Pauletta Basham (the late Joe) and Joyce White (the late O.J.); brothers, Bobby Elmore (Sue) and Paul David Elmore (Linda); and a grandson, Claud Anthony Paul Groce II.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Alvin Groce; and a brother, Jimmy Elmore (Jane Ann).
Funeral service is at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues Thursday until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael L. “Mike” Phillips, 65, of Hiseville died peacefully Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Clyde Preston Phillips and Helen Craig Phillips. Mike was a graduate of the 1975 Barren County High School class and a member of Big Meadow Baptist Church. Mike continued the tradition of his parents and brother, Jim, and was the owner of Phillips IGA from 1999 until the present. He loved his family, customers and community big. He was a good businessman and had the ability to make everyone smile, laugh and feel loved. If you knew Mike, you knew he was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan and loved to listen to Elvis music every chance he had. Mike had a personal relationship with the Lord and is now healthy again in the presence of his maker.
Survivors include five children, Tiffani Phillips Bennett (Aaron), Kristin Phillips Childress (B.J.), Dusty Phillips, Trevor Phillips (Miranda) and River Phillips; seven grandchildren, Max Bennett, Luke Phillips, Jayci Childress, Bronson Phillips, Ian Childress, Evie Bennett and Nash Phillips; two brothers, Bill Phillips and Jim Phillips; and a special friend, Lisa Brandon, all of Hiseville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home,, with burial in Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Thursday and continues all day Friday and then Saturday morning until the time of the service at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy are requested to be in the form of donations to Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Lois M. Sweitzer, 88, of Glasgow died Thursday June 1, 2023, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Lois was born Aug. 12, 1934, to the late Lee McCammon and the late Mearl McCammon.
She is survived by her son, Scott Sweitzer (Sandy) of Morgantown; her daughter, Denise Sweitzer of Smyrna, Tennessee; grandsons, Joshua Sweitzer (Alyssa) and Jared Sweitzer; brother, James McCammon; sisters, Linda Fierla, Donna Bedwell and Pat Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Sweitzer; brother, Wayne McCammom; sisters, Joyce Graves, Reva Gatz and Glenn Scott.
Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
