It’s been a busy week for Glasgow High Schools Engineering students. With five students competing at the National Technology Student Association Conference that was held in Louisville from June 28 to July 2.

According to J.R. Dakin, engineering teacher for GHS, around 7,000 students from across the world competed in a variety of categories.

“We entered two competitions, one was architectural design, where students had to design an assisted living facility and make a model of their design, our group made the top ten there,” Dakin said. “The other event was computer aided drafting engineering. Brad Mahung, won first place in this competition.”

“I’m so excited to see our groups place as high as they did, our architectural design group has been working on this since September and it was just really great to see them rewarded for their efforts,” he said. “With Brad, I was just jumping up and down when he placed first, that’s pretty incredible, I’ve had students place in the top ten before but this is the first year I’ve had two groups that placed so high.”
