Barren County Schools will auction surplus classroom equipment as well as buses and other farming and livestock items on July 18.

According to Joey Bunch, there will be two separate auctions, one at Austin Tracy Elementary and the other at the Barren County bus garage off Harry King Road in Glasgow. The Austin Tracy auction, which will be 4 p.m., will mostly consist of office surplus supplies as well as some classroom equipment.

The auction at the garage is scheduled for 6 p.m. At the auction, 13 school buses will be sold. Bunch said, these buses have “done their due diligence” for the schools and they are being sold to make room for the new buses arriving in the fall.

In addition to the office and classroom surplus supplies and the school buses, there will also be other items for sale including livestock handling equipment, galvanized corral panels, solid bottom alley way sections, squeeze chutes, livestock scales and palpitating cages.

Bunch said, all the items will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. everyday until the auction next Tuesday.

The auction will be done by Billy Carver with the Bud Greenup Real Estate & Auction Company.
