Kathi Norrod and Bobbie Nyekan participated in the first Special Education Teacher Cohort in the Kentucky Career and Technical Education Summer Program.
The initiative began through the efforts of Gretta Hylton, Associate Commissioner Office of Special Education and Early Learning, and Dr. Beth Hargis, Associate Commissioner Office of Career and Technical Education.
Hylton and Hargis are committed to working together to best serve all students.
“Barren County is committed to providing opportunities for our special education students to succeed. The training and information Kathi and Bobbie received through this program will have a direct impact on the long-term success of the students they serve,” commented Cynthia York, Director of Special Programs for Barren County Schools.
Ms. Norrod and Mr. Nyekan are leaders in furthering the partnership between Special Education and Career and Technical Education.
More students with disabilities in the state of Kentucky will complete CTE Pathways and transition successfully to post-secondary opportunities because of this partnership between special education and career and technical education teachers.
