The tornado watch, issued by the National Weather Service, that was originally set to expire at 5 p.m. no longer effects Barren County, according to the 1:25 p.m. update of the NWS forecast.
According to the map, the watch still covers parts of Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia and Pennsylvania and now extended to cover counties in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Barren County lasting until 5 p.m.
The watch, forecasted out of the NWS Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, was issued at 9:55 a.m. and includes 77 other Kentucky counties in Eastern Kentucky from Adair and Allen to Woodford and Wayne. Barren County is on the western border of the watch area.
According to NWS, the urgency for the watch is listed as “expected.”
A tornado watch is issued by the NWS when severe thunderstorms, storms with 58 mph wind or higher and/or 1 inch diameter hail, when such hazard weather is possible “in or near the watch area” so that people can be prepared if the weather should get worse.
Currently, in Glasgow, it is 83 with a humidity of 78%. According to the NWS, there is a 20% chance of thunderstorms after 4 p.m. which could be severe with “large hail and damaging winds.”
This watch also includes counties in Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.
