This Saturday, Aug. 12, at 11:30 a.m., an original stagecoach that carried early visitors in the 1800s to Mammoth Cave will roll into the park once again for the first time in decades.

The restored horse-drawn coach will be driven to its new exhibit location at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave by members of the Mammoth Cave National Park Association, who invite the public to watch this historic event.

The superintendent and members of the Mammoth Cave National Park Association will make a few short remarks in front of the hotel to mark the occasion.

Traffic on Mammoth Cave Parkway between the Caver’s Camp Store and the visitor center will be stopped from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. to allow the coach to safely travel along the route.

Park staff recommends to park near the rear lot of the main lodge building. The lodge is still under construction so attendees will not be able to enter the building.
