William ‘Billy’ Barrick
William “Billy” Leslie Barrick, 89, of Glasgow died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023. Billy was born Dec. 18, 1933, to the late William Cecil Barrick and the late Vada (Renfro) Barrick. William was a faithful member and deacon of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Glasgow. Billy worked as a farmer and prior to that served his community for 17 years at College Street Service Station.
He is survived by his wife, Willow Dean (Price) Barrick; his three daughters, Karen Foster (Mark), Wanda Duke (Brian) and Sandie Crabtree (Lynn); his four grandchildren, Randy Howard (Niecie), Jaren Howard (David McDonald), Lyndsey Brooks (Dustyn) and Lesley Duke; his three great-grandchildren, Rayli Sowers (Justin), Tyler Howard and Abbygail Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Maggard.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
Roger Clinton
Roger Harve Clinton, 91, of Glasgow died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at Barren County Health Care Center. Roger was born Nov. 8, 1931, in Medford, Wisconsin, to the late Harve Clinton and late Ester (Hilton) Madrick. Roger was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow.
He had a military career in the Air Force, where he was proud to serve his country. Once he retired from the Air Force, Roger worked at Willard Airport in Sandy, Illinois, as an air traffic controller. He later became chief at Willard Airport for the Federal Aviation Administration and served for 15 years. Once a resident of Glasgow, Roger’s love for his career guided him to join the board at the Glasgow airport.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wilma K. Clinton; his son, Rodney Clinton (Pam); and his daughter, Judy Stephan.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors at graveside will be provided by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
