GALLERY: Glasgow’s “Hometown Christmas” parade lights up the city with festive cheer

The annual Glasgow Christmas parade began at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, and featured approximately 179 floats across six different categories including large and small businesses, scouts, clubs/organizations, schools and churches. First place in the scout category went to Troop 661 and 586. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
In the school category first place went to Barren County Area Technology Center. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
Remnant Church was first place in the church category for their float titled “Making it Home for Christmas.” Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
The Peden Family won in the family/individual category. Their float featured a Snoopy who would ski down the snowy back on a track. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
The Barren County Family YMCA won in the club/organization category for their float. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
Winning the small business category was Big Lawn Party LLC. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.

Several different groups of judges determined first, second and third place in all six of the categories. The Grand Marshall Award was given to the best first place float that best interpreted the theme of “Hometown Christmas.” Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
