Inducted into the Cave City Hall of Fame was Edmond Daniel Turner, M.D. Dr. Turner’s resume of accomplishments includes being a founding member and 1st President of the Cave City Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Turner’s resume was presented by Billy Frank Hunt and since none of Dr. Turner’s relatives were able to join us at the banquet, Hall of Fame Committee member Bruce Gentry accepted the plaque.
Economic Development was presented by Nicole Randall to Caveland Economic Authority – David Peterson.
Excellence in Agriculture was presented by Jeanna Smith to Brandi Button.
Business of the Year was presented by Debbie Thorpe to Dinosaur World – Chris Randall.
Volunteers of the Year was presented by Sammy Jo Estes to The Staff and Students of Caverna Independent Schools – Amanda Abell.
Youth Volunteer of the Year was presented by Amanda Abell to Kierra Burris.
Humanitarian Award was presented by Chris Summers to Alex Goldsmith.
Citizen of the Year was presented by Gina Lyon to Terry Bunnell.
Chamber President-Elect Debbie Thorpe presented a thank you gift to outgoing Chamber President Jeff Lawson.
We closed the evening with a tribute to our dear friend Wandel Strange presented by Gina Lyon. We lost Wandel earlier this year to a tragic auto accident. He will forever be remembered as one of the strongest supporters of the Chamber and his legacy will live on in our hearts and minds.
