Chocolate lovers have an opportunity to indulge their fixation at the public library in Glasgow on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The fundraiser for Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library entitled “Chocolate Around the World” will be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. courtesy of Friends of the Library.

“It’s a lot of fun and a lot of people look forward to it,” said Friends of the Library President Barbra Brand.

During this cash-only event, the non-profit will sell baked goods, books, DVD’s and host a chocolate tasting to generate funds that benefit the library.

“We have six different chocolates from six different countries,” Brand said.

It costs $3 to taste all six chocolates and $2 to try three. Guests who choose to partake in the tasting are encouraged to vote for their favorite as they try them.

“You get a lot of discussion over who likes which chocolate,” Brand said.

After the event, Vand will tally up the votes to see which chocolate is liked best, then post the results on the Friends of the Library’s Facebook page.

Those interested in becoming a member of the non-profit are welcomed to apply.

“We’re always looking for new members, but you do not have to be a member to attend the event,” Brand said. “It’s $5 for an individual and $10 for a family.”
