Barren County School District announced the 2023-24 Teachers of the Year.

Administrators and colleagues nominate teachers for eleven different categories. A district team reviews all nominations and selects a winner for each category. These teachers demonstrate excellence in the classroom through their instruction, rapport with students, and commitment to continual growth.

Superintendent Bo Matthews commented, “We applaud these teachers for the exemplary work they do each day in their classrooms. They equip students with the skills they need for future success and instill a love of learning that will last a lifetime.”

Director of Instruction Scott Harper added, “These teachers were selected from an outstanding pool of applicants. They reflect the district’s commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching.”

Winners are submitted to Western Kentucky University to be considered for their Distinguished Educator awards. The overall winners for elementary, middle, and high school teacher of the year will be recognized at Campbellsville University’s Excellence in Teaching awards program on May 11.
