James Bolton “Jimmy” Shaw, 88, of Cave City died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at The Medical Center at Caverna. The Barren County native was born on June 29, 1935, to the late James Clifton Shaw and Leora Bolton Shaw Locke.
Jimmy served our nation as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky State College and worked as an entrepreneur in the restaurant, hotel, banking, farming and travel industries. He was a member of Horse Cave Baptist Church and the Barren County Cattlemen’s Association. Jimmy thoroughly enjoyed traveling, hiking, and viewing all the beauties of the world. He was the ultimate friend, always willing to offer a helping hand.
He leaves to honor his memory his cousins, Jennie Waller of Bowling Green, Roger Smith of Cave City and May-Delle Huet of Arizona; dear friends, Creel and Robin Hatcher of Cave City; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Graveside service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at Cave City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel.
