On Sunday, Feb. 25th, the Kentucky Film Alliance invites the public to a movie premiere of Kangaroo Kids at the Marquee Cinemas in Glasgow from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“Let’s have a wonderful event, play the movie in the theater and let’s help a charity with a food drive, “said Film Producer Branscombe Richmond.

Though the event is free, those who attend are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to St. Helen’s Food Pantry.

Before taking your seat, grab a cookie from Park City’s Girl Scout Troop or purchase a meal from the Hungry Hut food truck.

“A portion of the proceeds from the Hungry Hut will be donated to the Kentucky Film Alliance,” Richmond said.

You can also take photos with local actors who starred in the film.

“A group of four actors called ‘The Zooeys’ who work at the zoo taking care of the animals and co-star Steve Hodges from E-town who played ‘Marty’ will be there,” Richmond said.

The Kentucky Film Alliance is a newly established organization whose goal is to spotlight local talent.

“There are wonderful people here locally who have learned the industry as we’ve gone along,” Richmond said.

As the year continues, the Kentucky Film Alliance aims to brings safe and respectable filming experiences to Kentucky.

“We have a slate of films, and we hope to do three this year,” Richmond said.
