Joyce Burke

Joyce Glady Burke, 83, of Glasgow died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Saint Joseph, Tennessee, to the late Spencer Gladney and late Evelyn Williams Gladney. Joyce spent her youth split between Florence, Alabama, and the Detroit, Michigan, area. Joyce married Bill Burke in 1958, and they raised four sons, Tim, Jeff, Joe and Phillip. She and Bill raised their family outside Detroit and then moved to California for several years before moving to their forever home in Glasgow, where she passed. Joyce spent her life loving God, family and her home.
Survivors include her two sons who have cared for her to the end, Jeff and Phil Burke; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa Gladney Dickey; half-sisters, Debbie Linville Eisemann of Detroit and Elizabeth Gladney Bryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Tim and Joe Burke.
Joyce’s family has honored her wishes for cremation. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Ronda Lynn Chapman, 60, of Scottsville died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. She was born June 22, 1963, a daughter of the late William Rondal Cash and Barbara Jean Church Cash. She was an assistant manager for Dollar General Stores.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Wayne Chapman; one son, Christopher David Deckard (Leah); one stepson, Nathaniel Edward DeFrees; two grandsons, Seth Alexander Deckard (Jaclyn Grace Likens) and Austin Hunter Deckard (Isabelle Wethington); two great-grandchildren, Sapphire Deckard and Corey Hunter Deckard; one brother, Don Cash (Terri); two sisters, Belinda Nowak (John) and Josette Cash; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Corey Daniel Deckard, and her grandparents.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

‘Red’ Rutherford

“Red” Rutherford

J.D. “Red” Rutherford, 85, of Cave City died peacefully with his family by his side Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence. The Barren County native was born Oct. 8, 1938, to the late John Wesley “Johnny” and Lola Frances Compton Rutherford.
Red served our country in the U.S. Marines. After serving for four years, he returned home and met and married the love of his life, Dasie Nannie Rutherford. Red owned and operated Mainline Enterprises as a general contractor for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, bird hunting, talking politics and piddling around his shop.
Besides his wife of 55 years, Dasie, he leaves to honor his memory his daughter, Stacey Rutherford Wallace (Eric) of Cave City; bonus children, Lee Ann Anderson (Jason) and Laycie, Lauryn and Rayce Mauk; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Patton Funeral Home Park City Chapel, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Huxen Shoffner
Huxen Wren Shoffner was born “asleep” into his mother’s arms Friday, March 1, 2024, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. The infant son of Michael and Ashley Shoffner was loved deeply and will live on in their hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, Huxen is survived by a sister, Elly Shoffner; brothers, Beau Shoffner and Camden Napier; and grandparents, Everett and Mary Shoffner.
Huxen was preceded in death by his grandmother, Yolanda Richards.
The family has chosen cremation. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
