Arthur Bridgeman

Arthur Ray Bridgeman, a resident of Barren County, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born Dec. 1, 1942, in Shawneetown, Illinois, to the late Kelly Ray and Lillie Mae Clifford Bridgeman. Art’s passions were hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved to grow plants from seed, watch them grow and give the plants to his friends and see how happy they were with their vegetables. This was Art Bridgeman.
Left to honor him is his wife of 34 years, Patti Houchens Bridgeman; two children, Allen Bridgeman (Amy) of Carmel, Indiana, and Kimberly Lucas of Florida; three stepchildren, Dawn Pickerel (Bruce), Chris Trulock (Megan) and Heather Hardman (Matthew); 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two on the way; and three brothers, Dennis Bridgeman, Jeff Bridgeman and Rodney Bridgeman (Lana).
Funeral is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Bon Ayr Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cabble Dale Gentry, 83, of Glasgow died Wednesday, April 11, 2024, at Glasgow State Nursing Facility. He was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Tompkinsville to the late Sammy N. Gentry and the late Eddie May Key. Dale was of the Baptist faith. He loved to spend his free time hunting. Dale served his community in his lawn care business for more than 40 years.
Survivors include his son, James Dale Gentry; daughter, Sherry Jean Garner; granddaughter, Ashley Gentry; grandson, Gavin Garner; Wanda Gentry; stepchildren, Tammy (Stevie) and Joe Johnson; stepgrandchildren, Lee (Alexis), Casey Crain, Kelly (Carrington), Charlie (Coty), Nikki, Krystal and Bly; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings, Randall Gentry from Indiana, Geraldine Jackson of Glasgow, Wanda (Doug) Miles of Glasgow, Johnny Gentry (Betty) of Cave City and Anita Bragg (Larry) of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Lynn Gentry, and sister, Eva Slinker.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and continues Sunday morning until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Stanley Russell Jewell, 81, Lucas died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Stanley and Margaret Thomas Jewell.
Stanley Russell joined Peters Creek Baptist Church in July 1959 and graduated from Austin Tracy High School in 1960. He spent most of his adult life as a carpenter and farmer and was ordained deacon at Peters Creek Baptist Church on Sept. 22, 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Britt Jewell; two daughters, Penny Young (Tony) and Sandy Bates (Brian); one son, David Jewell (Lea); six grandchildren, Beverly Jewell, Britt Young (Kara), Brandy Pedigo, Casiday Jewell, Bryson Young (Becca) and Sara Bates; one great-grandson, Brody Young; two sisters, Sherry Elmore and Vicky Lile; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin Tommy Garrett (Carolyn).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Adams.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
