Bonnie Sue Copass, 79, of Glasgow died peacefully, Friday, April 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Louisville and was the daughter of the late John and Zelda Alvey Prechtel. She was a member of Saint Helens Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Darrel Copass (Shannon); five grandchildren, Jessica Vanburen (Thomas Lively), Dakota Copass (Brianna), Michael Vanbureb (Jesse), Christopher Copass and Sarah Copass; three great-grandchildren, Ivy Vanburen, Asaiah Copass and Athena Copass; brother, John Richard Prechtel (Diana); sister, Gwendolin Receveur (Bruce); one sister-in-law, Pam Copass; the Johnson and Chapman families; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Leon Copass; brother, Clyde Prechtel; sister, Nancy Seipp; and great-granddaughter, Sahara Copass.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation begins after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Billy Greer
Charles Billy Greer, 88, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow. He was the youngest of 10 children of the late Eugene Greer and Maude Jewell Underwood Greer of the Etoile community. Billy was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Barren County.
Billy married Ann Greer in 1960 and they had three children, Doug Greer (Sarah), Patrick Greer and Laura Greer.
Billy served one term in the Army. After basic training, he was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where Ann joined him and their first child was born.
After the military, he worked as a carpenter; worked for 33 years at Tyson/SKF Bearing, where he was known as Pop by his coworkers; and then did more carpentry work after retiring. He enjoyed owning his horses and never missed the Etoile fair other than his time in the Army, but most of his free time was spent working on various projects for his family, and he l stayed busy well into his 80s. He was a long time member of Temple Hill Baptist Church.
Billy is survived by all three children; two grandchildren, Andrew Gerber and Josh Greer (Gabbie); six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Logan, Nathan, Haley, Leah and Mabel, who knew him as Dadah; their grandmother, Pamela Greer; numerous nieces and nephews; and those just like family, Leigh Hagan, Brandi Hamilton, Kelly Bass, Eric Bruton and Roger Lawrence, and neighbors Harold and Sharon Denham and Brent and Diane Feenstra.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, and nine siblingsl 1, Please Sanders (John), Mary Francis (Nig), James William, Stanley Cleveland Sr. (Buck), Bessie (Bess), Tressie (Tress), Paul Edward, Emogene and William Dean.
Billy wished to be cremated. A celebration of life is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday April, 20, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. The family requests no food or flowers; just stop by to say hello and share your memories of Billy.

“Pete” Martin
Cleon “Pete” Martin Jr., 75, of Glasgow died Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at NHC Healthcare Center. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late William Cleon Martin and Angie Beatrice Mitchell Martin. He was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church, where he had also served as Sunday school superintendent.
Survivors include one brother, Bruce Martin (Sheila); three sisters, Teresa Martin-Curd, Tillie Slaton and Mary Ann Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Joe Martin, Mark Martin and Robert “Butch” Martin.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Pleasant Union Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
