Vickie Lynn Cherry Bunch, 72, of Horse Cave died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Vickie was born on July 5, 1951, in Glasgow. She was a lifelong, proud resident of Horse Cave, living most of her life on her beloved Maple Avenue. She was a member of Horse Cave United Methodist Church. Vickie was a 1970 graduate of Caverna High School, and she obtained a degree in secretarial science from Bowling Green Business College. She enjoyed her 33-year career serving the students of Caverna Independent Schools before her retirement in 2014. She was a mother figure to many students at CHS in her role as secretary in the guidance office. Vickie will be remembered for her incredibly loving heart, caring spirit, listening ear, and remarkable crochet talent. She loved spending time with her family and many friends. Vickie never met a stranger and was adored by everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Vickie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Mitchell Bunch; her daughter, Carrie Lynn of Horse Cave; her son, Kyle Mitchell and his wife Kaycee of Alvaton. Her dream of becoming a grandmother came true and she was a proud “Gickie” to Lincoln Wells and Delilah Palmer Bunch, who also survive. Additionally, Vickie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Louise Cherry; nieces and nephew, Holly Taylor (Chris), Amy Antle (Garrett) and Graham Cherry (Sierra); seven great-nieces and -nephews; granddogs, Spock and Radley; sisters-in-law Beverly Pedigo (Ronnie), Palvena Pace (Alan) and Liz Franklin (Willis); nieces, Jennifer, Mary Beth, Michelle, Jane Ashley, Leslie and Lindsay; nephew Chad; eight additional great-nieces and -nephews; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Holine Raymer Cherry; her mother- and father-in-law, Mitchell and Mildred Bunch; her grandparents, Harry and Felia Belle Cherry and Hollie and Ella Raymer; brother-in-law, Bruce Bunch! and several cousins.
Funeral service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Horse Cave United Methodist Church, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Winn Funeral Home and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Horse Cave United Methodist Church, Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Christian K. Rodriuges, 21, of Horse Cave died Friday, April 26, 2024. He was a son of Lisa Rodriuges (Gladys) and the late Jerry Johnson. He was a tour guide for Hidden River Cave and a member of the 307th Support maintenance of the Kentucky National Guard. He loved camping, fishing, hiking and spelunking.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his fiancée, Jenna Wood-Rodriuges and her daughter Keeli and their unborn baby Bean; one brother, Brandon Rodriuges (Madelyn); grandfather, Tim Hindsman; aunts and uncles, Jacklyn Jeffries, Chris Bishop (Anastasia), Melissa Sturgeon (Seth) and Timmy Hindsman (Brandy); nieces and nephews, Brianna, Bella, Zoey, Austin, Jaden, Connor, Jake, Adam, Austin, Christian and Kihley.
Besides his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sharon Hindsman; two uncles, Mickey Johnson and Timothy Hindsman Jr.; paternal grandparents, Sandy and Lawrence Johnson; and maternal grandfather, Salvador Rodriuges.
Funeral is at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. His National Guard unit is providing military honors at the cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
