On Friday, May 24, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the Glasgow Police Department responded to McKenna Street in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers determined that Christopher Rye, 20, had been into a verbal altercation with a juvenile, which led to Rye brandishing a firearm and firing multiple times in the direction of the juvenile and other individuals.
The juvenile was struck in the abdomen area and was treated by the Barren/Metcalfe EMS, he was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Christopher Rye of Glasgow Ky. was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree (1 count), Wanton Endangerment (3 counts).

According to Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Terry Flatt the one person detained in the shooting that took place on the night of May 24 was 20-year-old Christopher Rye.
According to the Barren County Detention Center Rye was arrested on charges of first degree assault and first degree wanton endangerment. He has a $50,000 cash bond and his first court appearance is on May 30 at 9 a.m.
Other than that information Flatt said there are currently no updates on the investigation but he hoped “to have something soon.”

The Glasgow Police Department is currently investigating a shooting on McKenna Street in Glasgow.
According to information provided by Public Information Officer Terry Flatt the police department has detained one person in regards to the shooting and the victim was treated on site by Barren/Metcalfe EMS personnel before being transported to the University of Louisville for treatment.
McKenna Street intersects with Columbia Avenue, North Franklin Street, Ellison Avenue, Simmons Street and Humble Avenue.
As the investigation is ongoing, no further information is available at the time of publication.
