A prayer vigil is set for 7 p.m. June 11 at Gorin Park for the juvenile who was shot on May 24 after a verbal altercation on nearby McKenna Street.

Fifteen-year-old Matthew Arms is currently still in critical condition in the Louisville hospital, where he has undergone numerous surgeries to his abdomen and other areas.

His mother, Lori Beth Bunch, took to social media where she has been documenting Matthew’s medical journey. According to one of her more recent posts he is “still fighting hard” and briefly awoke before a medical episode resulted in his resuscitation and sedation. At the time of publication Bunch posted that the whole family had gathered together with Matthew.

The public is invited to attend this vigil.

“My family and I are thankful for all the prayers that been said for Matthew,” Bunch wrote. “God is answering our prayers, while it could end in the outcome that none of us want. God will answer our prayers only in his way.”
