Glasgow Fire Department personnel responded to a fire call at 307 Frazier Avenue on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters on Engine 1 were first on the scene a little after 5 p.m. No one was at the home and it has been determined the fire was “unintentional and electrical in nature,” according to a press release from the fire department.

“After forcing the front door to gain entry Engine 1 crew began fire attack. At the same time Rescue 2 and Ladder 2 arrived on scene and entry was made through a back door to perform a primary search as reports of a possible victim were relayed via Dispatch,” the release stated. “Shortly into the search Dispatch was able to confirm that the home was empty. The search crew finished their search and confirmed with Command that the home was vacant.”

“After the fire was extinguished the ceiling and walls were pulled to check for any fire extension,” the release stated. “Clothes and other smoldering items were wet down to ensure no rekindles.”

Fire department units were on the scene for about an hour and a half, the release stated. GFD was assisted by Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalfe EMS and Glasgow Electric Plant Board personnel. There were no injuries at the scene.
