The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a severe thunderstorm warning that includes much of Barren County.
The warning is in effect until 7 p.m. for areas that include Glasgow, Park City, Red Cross, Haywood and Fountain Run in Barren County. It also includes parts of Monroe, Allen, Metcalfe and Cumberland counties.
A statement from the NWS states wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible, also to expect damage to roofs, trees and siding.
“Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways,” the NWS stated.
