Near exit 8 of the Cumberland Parkway there are flaggers directing traffic while numerous trucks and steamrollers work at the resurfacing project from KY-1297 to US-68. According to the report this section of the project, which is from marker 0.0 to 2.5, will last at least until July 5. Drivers should expect to stop or slow down when going through the area. District 3 of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which serves Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, Warren and Barren counties, released the traffic impact report through July 5.
The report details the ongoing construction in each of the district’s counties. In Barren County the project to resurface the Veterans Outer Loop from Ky. 1297 to US 68/Ky. 80 — also known as Old Bowling Green Road and New Bowling Green Road, respectively — is ongoing. Specifically the report states “motorists should expect lane closure and delays” from mile marker 0.0 to marker 2.5; that is the section of the Outer Loop off exit 8 of the Cumberland Parkway.
According to the report, the work is subject to change.
