Carol Ann Sneed

Carol Ann Sneed, age 86 of Glasgow, KY, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, July 21, 2024. The Haywood native was born on October 7, 1937, to the late Branchford “Frog” and Amanda “Mandy” Lee Vinson. She was married to her devoted husband of forty-eight years, Bro. Floyd Dean Sneed.

During her younger years, Carol worked as a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. She kept her vows and lovingly cared for her disabled husband, through sickness and health, for over nineteen years. They were parted by his passing on June 9, 2002.

Carol professed for many years that she was saved in her adolescence. However, after she married and became a mother, she realized that she had made a false profession of faith. She began praying and seeking the Lord, and found Him one night, lying in her bed. She united herself with Hanging Fork Baptist Church, and remained a member there until God called her home.

Carol traveled countless miles across the U.S. with her children and grandchildren’s southern gospel group, The Sneed Family. She received some of her greatest blessings by witnessing their musical, Godly gifts, and through the songs of their numerous, talented, Christian friends, that she became closely acquainted with.

She leaves to honor her memory, her son and his wife, Jeff and Pam Sneed; her grandchildren that she adored, Amanda (Caleb) Cowan , Seth (Maggy) Sneed, and Jacob (Whitley) Sneed; great-grandsons, Baker McKee and Elliott Banks Cowan, Flint Colter Sneed, and Baby Boy Sneed, expected to arrive in September; her special niece / caretaker, Phyllis Jean Brandon; her special caretaker, Hope Hammock, along with a host of friends that will dearly miss her. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Rickey Daryl Sneed; sisters, Inez Green, Violet Hughes and Edna Plumlee, and brothers Arlis Houchens and Charles Houchens.

Interment will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Bethel Independent Baptist Church Youth Group, 105 Kentucky Street, Glasgow, KY 42141.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, from 2 until 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home Cave City Chapel. A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
