The Glasgow Police Department announced additional units will be at schools within the Glasgow Independent School District.

The extra units are a “precautionary measure” after threats were made to schools in the district resulting in a male juvenile being charged with terroristic threatening. According to the press release from the department, they “have and continue to investigate all threats,” and that “at this time none have been credible.”

Terry Flatt, public information officer with GPD, said the additional officers would be at the schools the rest of the week and they would be at all GIS schools.

“We are assisting with any coverage needed at any location,” Flatt wrote in a text message.

Mike Houchens with the Barren County’s Sheriff’s Office said they are also putting additional units at Barren County schools though he did not want to get specific regarding duration.
