Recently the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College received a $1.5 million donation that will go towards the construction of the college’s campus community center.
The self-proclaimed state-of-the-art community center is a $5 million project “designed to be a vibrant hub for students and the public, featuring an art gallery, a coffee shop, and spaces for educational programs and events.”
The donation was given by the Robert and Mary Tincher Charitable Foundation, which is now the single largest donor to SKYCTC in the history of the college. In response to the $1.5 million contribution the college announced it is naming the community center the “Robert and Mary Tincher Campus Community Center.”
“This naming will stand as a lasting tribute to Robert and Mary Tincher, whose legacy of philanthropy continues to benefit SKYCTC students and the broader community,” SKYCTC stated in a press release.
The community center will be constructed at the college’s main campus.
