Applications are now open for Barren Countians to reserve their place in the annual Christmas Parade.
The theme for the 2024 parade is “Rock n Roll Christmas,” which was announced during a press conference on Aug. 29 in front of the Phillips Family Grocery & Butcher Shop mural. Also, at the press conference the Glasgow Garden Club was announced as this year’s grand marshal.
The parade is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. making it roughly two months away. Given the closeness the applications are now open for individuals, nonprofits, schools and government entities to claim their position in the lengthy nighttime tradition.
According to the application, entry fees are $25 per vehicle if the application is submitted before Oct. 31 and $50 if submitted after that date with the last day for applications being Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. Only the first 150 applicants, with a limit of two entries per individual or company, will be accepted.
