Barren Countians will have the chance to voice their concerns, opinions, ideas and inputs regarding a potential roundabout and bridge soon to be constructed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. There will be a public forum on Oct. 17 at the Barren County Middle School cafeteria.

The meeting will take place from 4-6 p.m. KYTC District 3 Chief Engineer Joe Plunk and other KYTC personnel will be available to the public and will give them a brief presentation on the construction.

As previously reported the public meeting is “to share details of an upcoming project on KY 249 at the intersection with Trojan Trail and Twyman Court in Barren County.”

Plunk said he understands the public’s trepidation as it is the first roundabout coming to Barren County, but highlighted the safety benefits of this intersection style when compared to a more familiar four-way stop.

Plunk asked for patience from residents while construction is ongoing saying it’s “always the most difficult time.”
