On Oct. 18 at 9 a.m. the students from Hiseville Elementary School marched in a parade honoring Hiseville school's centennial. The students were joined by alumni, staff, administrators, several county officials and a few businesses. Though there was a Hiseville school before, the first brick building was erected in 1924. Community celebrates 100 years of Hiseville School

At the previous meeting of the Barren County Fiscal Court Judge-Executive Jamie Bewley Byrd signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 18 as Hiseville School Day. Three of the seven county magistrates are graduates of the Hiseville school and, during the reception, Tim Coomer read the proclamation aloud. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.

After the parade everyone was invited into the gymnasium of Hiseville Elementary School, which was filled with old yearbooks and memorabilia. Michael Crimmins/Glasgow News 1.
