Scottsville Road, otherwise known as 31-E, has been reopened.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the agency responded to the crash at 10:30 a.m.on Oct. 20 and through preliminary investigations found that 47-year-old Charles Vittitoe of Scottsville swerved to avoid hitting a deer and collided with 76-year-old Danny Webb of Cave City.
Webb was pronounced dead by the Barren County Coroner and Vittitoe was taken to T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow before being transferred to Skyline Medical Center for serious injuries.
Sharon Webb, 71, who was a passenger in Danny’s vehicle was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to TJ Samson Hospital for unknown injuries.
This investigation is ongoing by KSP and is being led by Detective Bo Hubbard.

U.S. 31-E south of Glasgow is closed due to a fatal crash, according to Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management.
The agency posted on its Facebook page the length of the closure in the 7000 block of Scottsville Road is unknown. The road is closed from Old Scottsville Road Loop southward.
“Roadway will be closed for reconstruction,” emergency management stated. “Exercise caution and seek alternate route.”
Kentucky State Police is working the crash scene.
