Stephen “Steve” Meador, 72, of Fountain Run, KY passed away at his home on Friday, October 18, 2024.
He was born December 24, 1951, a son of the late Minnie Sue Anderson and Ira J. Meador.
Steve was a former president of the Allen County Beekeeper Association and a beekeeper for over 20 years. He helped wire the building for General Electric in Scottsville, Kentucky and was the third person hired. Steve worked at General Electric and when GE sold the business to A.O. Smith he was I.T. administrator until retirement. After retirement, he loved tinkering in his electronics shop and communicating on his ham radio. Steve spent many hours playing Minecraft and other games with his grandsons who he loved dearly. He was a member of Fountain Run Missionary Baptist Church. He was saved at a young age, he loved his God and his church.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Osborn Meador, of Fountain Run, KY; daughter and son-in-law Heather Colleen and Richard Jacob Dieffenbach; grandsons, Flynn William and Garrett Rhys Dieffenbach, all of Versailles, KY; son and daughter-in-law, Joel Michael and Angie Durham-Smith Meador, step grandchildren, Michaela and Madison Smith and AnneClaire Saltsman of Glasgow, KY.
Also surviving is a brother, David Dwight Meador and wife, Robin, of Adolphus, KY; brother-in-law, John Stephen Osborne and sister-in-law, Teddi Jean Osborne of Adolphus, KY.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain Run Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Capitol Hill Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, 5-8 p.m., and Tuesday, 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at Fountain Run Funeral Home.
