Caleb Longo, a senior at Barren County High School, is playing the role of Gaston in their upcoming production of “Beauty and the Beast,” which they will be performing at 6 p.m. this Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday in the BCHS auditorium.

The veteran thespian said this will be a big production.

“One that’s taken a lot of time and effort,” Longo said. “It’s one of the biggest ones that I’ve done in my time here at Barren County.

“A lot of people have put a lot of work into it and it’s a very meaningful play to a lot of us.”

Even though this show is a familiar classic, it will be full of surprises, said Hailey Wyatt, a junior who is playing Belle.

“Just things that you probably wouldn’t expect in the show,” she said.

Dean Fant, who is playing Beast, added that there’s “a lot of twists and turns that you just wouldn’t expect.”

The sophomore said his favorite scene is his final fight with Gaston.

“It’s emotional and one of those unexpected turns,” Fant said, adding that a lot of hard work and time went into this production. “It’s hard, but it’s all worth it in the end. It’s going to be a good show.”

Tickets can be purchased at BCHSdrama.ludus.com or at the door before each show.
