The Barren County Economic Authority Board of Directors authorized the sale of Lot 7 in the South Cooper Industrial Park during its recent meeting.

Kentucky Revised Statute 61.810 allows a board to enter a closed session for discussions of specific proposals and for either the sale or purchase of real property. After several minutes in closed session, Terry Bunnell made the motion to “authorize Maureen [Carpenter, CEO of the authority] to sign” the necessary paperwork for the sale of Lot 7.

Carpenter said the authority would issue a press release at a later date about the buyer, but she would “not disclose it at this time.”

According to the authority’s website, Lot 7 includes a 100,000 sq. ft. speculative building that is expandable up to 240,000 sq. ft. at 249 South Cooper Road in Glasgow. The property was listed for sale at $7.4 million presently.
