Barren County road crews are working on county roads after a night full of near-constant snowfall.
Crews are working “as hard as they can” scraping and salting roads, according to Emergency Management Director Garland Gilliam. He said he was not aware of any rescue or damage this morning, but that the roads remain hazardous.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports that crews are treating and plowing in Barren County.
As of 11 a.m. on Feb. 19 Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 stated priority A routes including Interstate 65, Interstate 165 and U.S. routes are mainly becoming wet in the travel lanes in most areas, but most priority B and C routes remain covered or mostly covered. Road crews continue to work and have begun treating priority B routes in many places.
The press release states, the sun has had a great positive impact on the treatment of roads and crews will continue to work throughout the day and into the evening.
Caution is advised if traveling is necessary.
