Kathryn Maureen Hunt Gregg
December 26, 1959- January 23, 2025

Kathy was the daughter of Carl Morris Hunt and Caroline Joan (Shedelbower) Hunt. She was the fifth child in a family of eight children, the third daughter. She was born in Glasgow, Kentucky and grew up there, graduating from Glasgow High School. May of 1982 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Ky. University in Bowling Green, Ky. She achieved her Master’s degree in August of 2006 from Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.  Both degrees were in the areas of Speech and Language Pathology.

Her career as a language/speech pathologist started in Tennessee, and she was an independent contractor in Clay County School District, employed by Invo Progressive Health Care. Kathy changed many children’s lives with love and an incredible ability to understand their communication needs.

She married James H. Gregg on December 18th , 1993. She was his caretaker for 18 years until he passed away February 10th, 2023.  Her passion and love for her dogs was evident whenever you were around her. She was a fantastic “mama” to them. Her first furry love was Patsy Ann, followed by brothers, Jamie & Ollie. She had a big heart when it came to children and animals.

On February 22nd, 2025 Kathy’s ashes and her beloved Patsy Ann’s ashes were mingled together and laid to rest in the tide at Fernandina Beach, Florida. This was their favorite place to walk and be together.

Other family members who preceded her in death were her parents, and her sister, Robin, in 2023, and her stepson, Zachary Gregg.

Survivors include her siblings: Dana Timmy in Joplin, MO., Christy White (Greg) in Searcy, AR., Bruce Hunt in Alta Mont, Tenn., Alex Hunt in Glasgow, Ky., John Hunt (Connie) in Pekin, IN., Daniel Hunt (Frank) in San Francisco, CA., nephews and nieces, and her very
dear friend since 2008, Lynn Carper.

In remembrance of Kathy the family asks that a donation be made to your local humane society.
