T.J. Community Mission Foundation received $20,000 during the Month of Giving campaign.
Throughout the month of March Jersey Mike’s in Glasgow and Bowling Green used its patronage to “give back to the communities they serve [by] providing an opportunity for patrons to leave a tip for the local charity,” according to a foundation press release. The annual Month of Giving campaign culminated on March 26 , which had 100 percent of sales going towards the foundation.
“The success of the campaign shouts loud and clear that the people of Glasgow, Bowling Green, and all of southern Kentucky are committed to their communities,” said Austin Whetsel, owner and operator of the two sandwich shop locations. “I hope this campaign is a springboard to the next chapter in the story of the Foundation and that our ongoing partnership will spread the word that the Foundation is here to help.”
Previously, Executive Director Randy Burns said the money could go toward any one of the foundation’s numerous programs.
“The T.J. Community Mission Foundation is grateful for its partnership with Jersey Mike’s and is beyond thrilled with the response from customers and the success of the campaign in both the Glasgow and Bowling Green locations,” Burns said. “The dollars raised will be used to support existing programs and projects of the TJCMF such as the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home, Community Medical Care, Children’s Day, the Trinity Rehabilitation Center at Samsonville Square, and many more.”
