Community Partners for Recovery received $7,000 from the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Glasgow Electric Plant Board.

The newly founded nonprofit is receiving this money “to help amplify the vital work [Community Partners for Recovery] does in the [authority’s] service area,” Senior Vice President of Customer and Community Relations Dan Pratt wrote in a press release. The Tennessee Valley Authority provides electricity to the Electric Plant Board.

As previously reported, the nonprofit — founded by Libby Short, AK Murrey and Christie Wall — aims “to combat substance use disorders with a community-centered approach to recovery.” With financial support, like this $7,000 donation, Community Partners is set to open its first facility in May at 112 B Ensminger Drive, which is behind Dairy Queen.

“We are so excited about our recovery community center that will be open next month. We believe that we will be able to make a big impact for those suffering from substance abuse disorder, which is a chronic disease. Our mission is to help promote lifelong recovery and help give life back to the community.” Short said.
