Pamela and Ronald Hayes of Caneyville, KY, passed away Friday, (May 2, 2025) in Bowling Green, KY as a result of an automobile accident.

Pamela was born on September 14, 1962, the daughter of the late Louis and Joyce Mudd. Ronald was born on September 27, 1964 to his mother, Alice Lacefield and his late father, James Hayes.

Pam and Ronnie Hayes were some of the finest people you would ever find. They both had the kindest hearts. If they could help you out they were the ones to call, day or night. They had a love for each other that is very hard to find these days. They shared a lot of the same hobbies. One of their favorite past times was spending time with their three great-grandbabies, Brixleigh, Mya, and Timberlynn; and their two grandsons, Trenton (Brittney) and Christian (Shelby); even if it was just sitting in the front yard watching them babies run around. They raised an amazing son, Chad as well. They instilled all the hard work into him. They taught Chad that if you want something you work for it. Pam and Ronnie were some of the hardest working people to know.

Fishing…If they said they were going fishing, oh they made a day of it. They both could fish from dawn until dark or longer. If they asked you to go fishing, you had better have packed enough food and drink to sit for hours, because that’s what they would do.

They both loved to hunt as well. Pam wasn’t much on turkey hunting like Ronnie, but she would put the smack down on a big buck if one walked in her path.

Other than hunting, fishing, and camping, they also enjoyed going to the casino to unwind from time to time. They also enjoyed playing cornhole with the family and friends when the weather was right. They also loved to watch their grandsons dirt track race. PaRonnie would help out in the garage if one of the boys needed help on their car and mamaw was there to ask them questions about the car, both wishing them luck before they took off to the track.

Pam loved to cook for her family and she would always put out a huge garden every year. When I Say Huge I mean hundreds of tomato plants, pickles and peppers, so she could do her canning to fill the cellar up. She canned some of the best salsa around, but it was her pickles that everybody was crazy about. If you wanted a jar, you got a jar. She wouldn’t take no money just might ask for her jar back.

Their survivors include a son, Chad Mudd (Dana); their two grandsons, Trenton (Brittany) and Christian (Shelby); three great-granddaughters, Brixleigh, Mya, and Timberlynn. Ronnie has three siblings, Johnny, Tony and Loretta Hayes. Pam has three siblings, Fonda Brooks (Tim), Vera Bryant (Norman), and Stevie Mudd. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Hayes and his step-mother, Regina Hayes; and one brother, Donnie Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Joyce Mudd; and brother, Timothy “Red” Mudd.
