One woman was taken to the hospital after she was allegedly shot by 58-year-old Shane Reece on May 20.

The shooting occurred at 129 McGrah Avenue in Glasgow. Upon arrival Glasgow police found a woman who had gunshot wounds in the head and arm. She was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for her injuries and later taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Reece remained inside the house “for a short time before setting fire to the bedroom area,” stated a Glasgow Police Department press release. He then came out the back door and was arrested and charged with attempted murder-domestic violence, first-degree arson, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and torture of a dog or cat.

Executive Operations Officer with the Housing Authority of Glasgow Sheri Lee confirmed the residence is a public housing unit. Maintenance Director Rodney Sherfey said there was lots of smoke damage, a window broke, water damage to the tiles and the door kicked in.

Reece’s court date is scheduled for May 22 at 12:30 p.m.
