UPDATED: Man killed in Scottsville Road collision identified

The Kentucky State Police released additional information from a two-vehicle collision on Scottsville Road. Based on its preliminary investigation,19-year-old Zachary Raney was driving a black 2008 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Scottsville Road when he crossed the center and into the path of a white 2020 Freightliner operated by Daniel Pere Vega, 53, of Louisville, who was traveling northbound on Scottsville Road.

Raney was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Barren County Deputy Coroner.

Barren County Deputy Judge-Executive Garland Gilliam said Raney was an EMT with Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services and a volunteer firefighter with the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department.

There were no other injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Landon Key.

The collision occurred Friday and led to the roadway south of Glasgow being closed for several hours.
