Chloe Witcher posted the best round of her golf career Thursday at Willow Oaks Golf Club. The Barren County junior shot a 67 to win the Lady Scottie Invitational by six strokes, and lead her team to the title.
Witcher’s round was the cap of a solid week in which she won at Campbellsville Country Club on Tuesday, and led late at Park Mammoth on Monday before finishing tied for third.
Overall, the Trojanettes’ “A” team had outstanding performances. After Witcher, Lucy Zalla shot 82, Rayleigh Tarry had a season-low round of 84, Karden Kinslow fired 89 and Alli Spillman finished with a 90.
Glasgow’s “A” team finished seventh. Harlow Bale led with a 97, while Reese Chaney shot 98, Korah Grace Jones shot 112, Norah Underwood fired 119, and Lucy Cate Stallons finished with a 129.
Barren’s “B” team finished eighth. Brenley Buchanon led with a 99, while Briley King fired 113, McKenzie Broady shot 124, Erin Bilbrey shot 126, and Kailynn Peterson finished with 128.
Glasgow’s “B” team was led by Aria Harper with a 129, while Jenna Grace Pedigo fired 132, Abrielle Zurek shot 134, Gracie Bale posted 138 and Raegan Blair finished with 139.
Franklin County finished second as a team with 328, while Bowling Green — coached by Barren County graduate Logan Steenbergen — was third with 331.
Emerson Bowling of Franklin County was second as an individual with a 73, while Kenzie Willen of Cumberland County, Mary Clayton Rodgers of Franklin County and Ellie Morgan of Bowling Green each shot 74.
