Roads will again take center stage at the Aug. 5 Barren County Fiscal Court meeting as the seven magistrates are planned to discuss and approve two Kentucky Transportation Cabinet agreements.
In one case the cabinet’s agreement states they will cover 80 percent of “drainage structure replacement” work performed by the county on Old Davidson and Rick roads. In previous reporting, the magistrates approved work bids on the two county roads for $64,900 and $39,775 respectively.
The other agreement is essentially an agreement that the cabinet will provide $293,384 in reimbursement to Barren County for work resurfacing “various [county] roads.”
There are also several invoices up for approval during the meeting including one for $5,560.63 from the state Finance and Administration Cabinet that is the county’s contribution into a “special account to be administered by the Finance and Administration Cabinet to pay court orders entered against counties for the defense of the [poor].”
The next fiscal court meeting is scheduled for Aug. 19 at 9 a.m. and the full agenda for tomorrow’s meeting can be found here.
